ATOL Protection

ATOL Protected
Travelopedia Ltd (trading as Groovy Holidays) — ATOL Number: 11087. See your confirmation for full details.
1. What ATOL protection is
The Air Travel Organiser's Licence (ATOL) scheme is operated by the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to protect customers who buy flights and flight-inclusive holidays from a licensed UK travel business. If the business fails financially, ATOL protection covers your money and, if you are already abroad, helps bring you home.
2. When your booking is ATOL protected
Some of the flights and flight-inclusive holidays on this website are financially protected by the ATOL scheme. When you pay for a flight-inclusive package, you will receive an ATOL Certificate confirming what is and is not financially protected and where you can get more information about what this means for you. We, or the suppliers identified on your ATOL Certificate, will provide the services listed on it (or a suitable alternative). In some cases, where neither we nor the supplier are able to do so for reasons of insolvency, an alternative ATOL holder may provide the services you have bought or a suitable alternative, at no extra cost to you. You agree that in those circumstances the terms of that alternative ATOL holder will apply and that person or company acquires the benefit of any monies you have paid to us, and this transfers to them the obligation to fulfil your booking.
ATOL protection does not apply to all holiday and travel services listed on this website. Please ask us to confirm what protection applies to your particular booking. If you do not receive an ATOL Certificate within 7 days of paying in full for your booking, please contact us via our Contact Us page.
3. Non-flight bookings
Bookings that do not include a flight (such as hotel-only or transfer-only bookings) are not protected by the ATOL scheme. Where such a booking forms part of a package with other travel services, it may instead be protected under the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018, and this will be confirmed to you at the time of booking.
4. More information
For more information about financial protection and the ATOL Certificate, visit the CAA's website at www.caa.co.uk or call 0333 103 6350. You can also visit the ATOL website for consumer guidance.
5. How this relates to payments and disputes
Because a flight-inclusive booking is already protected against our insolvency by the ATOL scheme, a card chargeback is not the correct route to recover funds where the issue is a supplier failure covered by ATOL — the ATOL scheme itself is designed to make you whole in that scenario. Chargebacks remain relevant only for unauthorised transactions or genuine merchant error, as set out in our Terms & Conditions.
6. ATOL holder details
